  15. PLEASE NOTE!  If you haven't yet upgraded your copy of Warp 9 to version
  16. 3.73, you must do so before running this patch!  There have been three
  17. online updates before this one: one to go from version 3.70 to 3.71, one
  18. from version 3.71 to 3.72, and one from 3.72 to 3.73.  You will find
  19. these online updates in the same place where you got this file.

  21. See below for information about upgrading from versions of Warp 9 earlier
  22. than 3.70.

  25. What This Update Adds
  26. ---------------------
  27.  
  28.   o  Custom fonts can be turned off for specific programs through the
  29.      DAT file, with the entry 'T0'.  (That's a T followed by a zero. 
  30.      Please see your Warp 9 manual for a complete description of DAT
  31.      files.)
  32.  
  33.   o  Extend-O-Save can now watch for disk activity, in addition to
  34.      its other "watch" options.
  35.  
  36.   o  Version 3.74 automatically disables the mouse jump feature while the
  37.      HotWire menu is open, so it won't interfere with HotWire's use of the
  38.      right mouse button.  (HotWire is CodeHead's powerful program
  39.      menu/launching utility.)
  40.  
  41.   o  Another HotWire-related change: the v3.74 screensaver now
  42.      communicates with HotWire to better handle the situation if a HotWire
  43.      alarm goes off while the screensaver is active.  It acts the same way
  44.      HotSaver does -- you may either ignore the alarm or let it continue
  45.      to ring.  To let you choose which way you'd like it to act, the new
  46.      version of the Warp 9 Control Panel (v1.4, included with this update)
  47.      has a switch in the Extend-O-Save Preferences dialog labeled 'Ignore
  48.      HotWire Alarms.' If this box is checkmarked, when a HotWire alarm
  49.      goes off it will beep five times, then immediately shut off.  If the
  50.      box is not checked the alarm will continue to sound, suspending the
  51.      system until you shut if off manually.

  54. What This Update Fixes
  55. ----------------------

  57. The patch program included with this text file updates Warp 9 3.73 to
  58. version 3.74.  Here's a list of the bugs fixed in this version:
  59.  
  60.   o  Previous versions of Warp 9 needed to run after the XBOOT bootup
  61.      manager program, or the mouse functions wouldn't work correctly. 
  62.      This is now fixed, and Warp 9 3.74 can run before XBOOT in the AUTO
  63.      folder if you wish.
  64.  
  65.   o  Earlier versions would crash with the desk accessories EdHak and
  66.      STeno, if you moved a window off the bottom of the screen; now fixed. 
  67.  
  68.   o  Under TOS 1.0, Warp 9's fastload feature would not work if FATSPEED
  69.      was installed; this is fixed.
  70.  
  71.   o  Warp 9 will now correctly handle screen modes with vertical
  72.      resolutions up to 1280 pixels.

  75. How To Do It
  76. ------------

  78. To perform the patch, follow these simple instructions:
  79.  
  80.   1.  IMPORTANT!!!  Make a copy of your Warp 9 program file and store it
  81.       in a safe place, just in case something goes wrong during the
  82.       upgrade process.  Don't modify your only copy!
  83.  
  84.   2.  Run the program SUPERZAP.PRG, which is included with this archive
  85.       file.  When the program starts, click the button labeled "Read ZAP
  86.       Data."  A GEM file selector will appear. 
  87.  
  88.   3.  Use the file selector to locate and select the ZAP file for either
  89.       the ST or the TT version of Warp 9, depending on which one you use. 
  90.       (The ZAP file will be named either W9ST_374.ZAP or W9TT_374.ZAP.)
  91.       SUPERZAP will load the ZAP file, and the button underneath "Read
  92.       ZAP Data" will now read "Warp9 ST v3.73->3.74" (or "Warp9 TT..."),
  93.       and become selectable.

  95.   4.  Click on this button and a GEM file selector appears, letting you
  96.       locate the copy of Warp 9 that is to be updated.  Select the Warp 9
  97.       program file and SUPERZAP will do its job, leaving you with a
  98.       working copy of Warp 9 3.74.

  100.   5.  Version 1.4 of the Warp 9 Control Panel is included with this
  101.       archive.  Make sure to replace your previous WARP9_CP.ACC with this
  102.       new one when you install version 3.74 of Warp 9.

  126. for just $30.00 by sending us your original disk and a check.  (The
